Meleesa Natasha Payne is a nineteen year-old
with a passion for academics pursuits, as well as modeling,
dancing and designing.
After leaving secondary school, she
attended the Critchlow Labour College where she gained passes
in the Industrial Relations and Sociology programme.
Meleesa was crowned Miss Fantasy in
2000. She was the first runner-up at both the Miss Guyana Talented
Teen, 2001 and the Miss Guyana African Heritage Pageant, 2003.
She represented Guyana at the Miss Ecstasy International Pageant
in 2005. Meleesa is a member of both the Kitty Methodist Youth
Group and the Kitty Methodist Young Adults Group. She likes
helping young people like herself understand the love of God.
She is also part of the Street Childrens Charity Workers' Group,
ensuring that meals, clothing and medical attention are provided
for the less fortunate children of Georgetown, Guyana. Involvement
in this group has allowed her the opportunity to realize how
blessed human beings all are and she hopes some day to play
a greater part in helping the less fortunate.
Meleesa is also attached to the International
Classique Dance Company where she gained the award for Best
Female at the Colour of La Dance Production in April, 2005.
At present she is a dance teacher at
the Classique Dance School and a Costume Designer whose aim
is to become a child physiologist.
