Candace Charles for two international pageants

CANDACE CHARLES IS GOING TO REPRESENT GUYANA IN THE MISS PJD2 CARIBBEAN QUEEN PAGEANT IN ST. MAARTEN AND ALSO THE MISS TEEN WORLD INT. IN THE BAHAMAS .

Much controversy was aroused in the press after 16 year old Candace Charles was crowned Miss Guyana World 2007. She was the youngest Guyanese representative ever to the Miss World pageant and many were hopeful that she would place but that was not to be. However, all is not lost for this now more experienced Guyanese beauty is set to wing out to St Maarten shortly as Guyana's Beauty ambassador to the Ms. PJD2 Queen International pageant billed for April 20-25 in St Maarten. Several days later she will represent Guyana at the Miss Teen World International pageant in Nassau, Bahamas. The Voice of St Maarten N is staging the pageant as part of the 35th anniversary of broadcasting which will be staged during the Carnival festivity.

The "Miss PJD2 CARIBBEAN BEAUTY PAGENT", is a contest, where beauty, intelligence and talent predominate. This contest features some of the most beautiful, intelligent and talented young women in the Caribbean region. The contest started in 1988, as part of St Maarten Carnival festivity and has become a legacy for St. Maarten and its Carnival. Word from the committee is that "The Pageant has served its purpose and has also been billed as the premiere Caribbean Beauty and talented pageant in the region." They added that the display of national and international spectators by the diverse Caribbean audiences is truly amazing. The PJD2 Caribbean Beauty Pageant has become incomparable to other pageants of its kind in the region because of its rich cross-section of Caribbean cultures. According to the committee, the annual Miss PJD2 Caribbean Beauty Queen pageant is one of the most prestigious events of its kind and it promises that contestants "are going to have an unforgettable experience".

"Be assured that we will do everything possible to make your participation in the pageant a rewarding and enjoyable experience. The Miss PJD2 Caribbean Beauty Queen Pageant is a 6 -day event during which delegates will participate in rehearsals, location videotaping, social events, and promotional activities.

Arrival to St Maarten is scheduled for April 20th and departure date is April 25th 2008. Candace's competition comes from Guadeloupe, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Cayman Islands, St. Thomas, Nevis, Puerto Rico, British Virgin Islands, Martinique, Cuba, Nicaragua, Bahamas, Barbados, Grenada, St Martin and Trinidad and Tobago.

 

On her profile Candace states: I don't know what really to say about me to be honest some days I'm the craziest and funniest person you'll ever meet. I'm really clumsy at times and I'm almost always happy or I can find something to laugh about even when I really shouldn't find the situation funny which can be annoying to most people and some people say I talk too much…basically I love life and living it! According to her status she says: "If life is a waste of time and time is a waste of life, then lets all get wasted and have the time of out lives."
