I was born at the Georgetown Hospital on January 17th, 1980.  I spent the first four years of my life with my parents then I along with my brother and sister went to live with my aunt.  This was after my father left to go to New York, USA.  I went to Saint Stephen’s Primary School.  In school I was quiet and shy and spent a lot of time by myself but I was not a bad student.

I came out of my shell when I entered High School in 1991.  This is where I began interacting with other students.  It also brought out my athlethic talents and I became the top female athlete in Track and Field. The events I excelled in sprints and long distance running.  My favourite subjects in school were Biology, Integrated Science, Agricultural Science and English.  I also showed an interest in Art and Social Studies.  However, it was the sciences which led me on my path to medecine.  I also enjoyed taking part in debates and poetry.

My passion for dancing started in late 1996 with Spotlight Dance Group where I did Hip-Hop dancing.  Around this same time I was employed by Twins Pharmacy where I helped in the manufacturing of some of the leading drugs/medicines used in Guyana.  In September 1998 I was accepted in the Georgetown School of Nursing to do the Professional Nursing Program.  I did my theories in Anatomy, Psychology, Sociology and Nutrition (this was my first year).  The second year was the practical years on the wards.  This practical year concentrated on knowing how to make beds, do bed baths, dressing of wounds, hair care, nail care etc.  In my last year my topics were Medicine, Surgery and General Nursing.  At present I am a member of the Crystallite Dance Group where I specialize in Latin, Salsa, Interpretive and Ballroom Dancing.  I also enjoy going to the gym, jogging, volleyball, communicating and socializing.

Presently I am a nurse in the High Dependency Unit at the Georgetown Hospital.  In March, 2002 I took a trip to St. Maarten and Trinidad where I really enjoyed the food, beaches and of course meeting the people of those countries.  In April 2002 I traveled again to Trinidad and Curacuao for the first time.  At present I am a contestant in the upcoming Miss Guyana World Pageant and this is even more exciting for me.
