Reigning Miss Guyana World, Miss Alexis Glasgow yesterday paid a courtesy call on Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce at his office on South Road.

The Minister said that he was especially supportive of pageants since the girls often become great ambassadors for the country and also they develop a positive outlook on life and "tend to express themselves more".

Glasgow told the media that her time spent in China was nothing short of fabulous and she is currently enjoying the reign

She further stated that she was chosen as the Caribbean spokesperson

for a UK based company Urban Therapy. Also she will be visiting the homes of the less fortunate and will also be making a donation to the Pediatric ward of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
