UNIVERSITY of Guyana biology student Jasmine Herzog sealed her bid to be Guyana's representative at the 55th Miss World 2005 Final to be staged in Sanya, China, December 10, 2005 by copping the coveted Miss Guyana World 2005 title, Saturday night at the Le Merdien, Pegasus Hotel, Georgetown.

Jasmine, an the initial hot pick in the run-up to the pageant night, edged out an equally hot favourite, Ulex Atwell who was awarded 1st runner-up. Other contestants who placed in the top five were , Dacia Blackmore- 2nd runner-up; Lindener, Mikieda Franklin - 3rd runner-up and Melessa Payne in the 4th runner-up position.

The well- attended show was interspersed with performances by Guyanese entertainment icon, John `Slingshot 'Drepaul; the Republican Steel Orchestra; Brian `Straighty' Nobrega and the Nadira Shaw Dance Company.
